Amica
For New York Design Week 2026, Assembly Line presents Amica, a new collection of lighting from Christopher Merchant and Aaron and Irisa Chan-Kawabi for Assembly Line.
Amica refers to the spirit of friendliness and creative kinship the designers developed as they shared sketches and prototypes like letters between their neighboring studios. The resulting pieces pair Merchant's expressive, hand-built ceramic bases in rich, earthy tones with Kawabi’s voluminous, flowing shades crafted from Japanese kozo paper.
